Mini Fiber Mill for Custom Fiber Processing

Picture
If you're looking a place to process your alpaca fiber, fleece or sheep's wool into yarn, batting, rovings or rugs, you've come to the right place. We are a full-service mini mill. Learn more about fiber processing at our mill, and then fill out an order form to place your order for custom fiber processing services.

Our fiber mill is located on our farm here in West Michigan, where we currently process both sheep wool and alpaca fiber.  Our fiber mill consists of seven mill machines that were also made in Michigan, so you are truly getting a “Made in America” experience! Click here for more information and to read the rest of our fiber mill story.

Custom fiber processing services at our mini mill include: skirting and cleaning fiber (fleece and wool), picking, carding, batting, needle felting, pin drafting, spinning, plying, and winding skeins. We produce cleaned and carded rovings, core spun rug yarn, and needle felted material. Learn more about our mill services for sheep wool and alpaca fiber.

The Grand Alpaca Company Farm and Fiber Mill:
   Your home for all things
   alpaca in Michigan.

Surrounded by beautiful fruit orchards and minutes from Lake Michigan, Grand Alpaca Company is situated just seven miles from US-31. Located on forty acres of pure Michigan countryside, it is currently home to fifty Huacaya alpacas that range in age from eight months to seventeen years!

We are Les and Cherish Meyette.  Our alpaca journey began in 2012 when Les acquired the original alpaca herd, followed by the farm at our current location in Montague in 2014. We were afforded the opportunity to purchase the original Grand Alpaca Company from Tim and Jane Talbott.  We are a small, family owned business, and our story has been one of growth and change. We are continually learning from those who came before us and have been blessed to be able to grow the business to now include a fiber mill as well. You can read more about our story here.

God has blessed our early endeavors, and we are committed to Him as we strive to be faithful stewards of His creation - with both the graceful animals He has entrusted to us, as well as this beautiful countryside we so enjoy.

Whether you are simply looking for more education on this wonderful animal, in need of fiber processing, or interested in purchasing our products we hope we are a useful resource for you and your family!
